School Sports Club – Miercurea Ciuc​

Our History and Heritage

The educational institution was founded in 1968 upon the proposal of Ákos Bálint, the regional specialist school inspector. Over the past decades, our club has traveled a bumpy but highly successful path. Sports departments were established and dissolved, and the headquarters relocated several times, but the essence remained unchanged: educating the youth of the Ciuc region through sports and a healthy lifestyle.

Since its foundation, thousands of young athletes from the region have won brilliant medals at national championships and earned their places on youth and senior national teams, further enhancing the reputation of Miercurea Ciuc and the I.S.K. worldwide.

Leadership and the Present
Since the school's inception, eight directors have succeeded one another in leadership, with Ervin Moldován-Horváth currently serving as the head of the institution. Today, the School Sports Club welcomes young people who want to stay active and compete within a modern framework, providing structured training programs.
